Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to the BlueSaga game, its launcher, game servers and this website (together, the "Service"), run by the BlueSaga team ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing or playing BlueSaga, or by using this website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The game is free

BlueSaga is free to play. There are no subscriptions, purchases or paid items. The Service is a hobby project provided "as is" and may change, be interrupted or shut down at any time without notice.

2. Your account

• You can play as a guest or register an account with your email address.
• You are responsible for your account and for everything that happens on it. Keep your email account secure, since it is used to log in.
• Guest accounts that are not linked to an email address are deleted after 30 days without activity.
• If you are under the age required to consent to online services in your country, you need permission from a parent or guardian to play.

3. Rules of conduct

To keep BlueSaga fun for everyone, you agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, insult or discriminate against other players.
• Post illegal, hateful, sexual or otherwise offensive content in chat, character names or signs.
• Cheat, use bots, exploit bugs, or use modified or third-party clients to gain an advantage.
• Attack, overload, reverse engineer for malicious purposes, or try to gain unauthorized access to the servers or other players' accounts.
• Sell or trade accounts, characters or in-game items for real money.
• Impersonate staff members or other players.

If you find a bug or exploit, please report it on our Discord instead of using it.

4. Moderation and termination

We may warn, mute, temporarily ban or permanently ban accounts, and remove characters, items or content, if we believe the Terms have been broken. We can also suspend access to protect the Service or other players. We try to be fair, but moderation decisions are at our discretion.

5. Virtual items

Characters, items, gold and other in-game content have no real-world value and are not your property. You receive a personal, revocable license to use them inside the game. Progress may be reset or lost, for example because of bugs, rebalancing or server issues.

6. Intellectual property

The BlueSaga name, logo, artwork, music and game content belong to their respective creators. Parts of the game's source code are published under the license in the project's repository; that license governs the use of the code. You may create and share videos, screenshots and fan content about BlueSaga for non-commercial purposes.

7. Content you share

You keep the rights to what you write in the game, but you give us permission to store, display and moderate it as needed to run the Service.

8. Disclaimer and liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of data, game progress, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection laws.

9. Third-party services

The game is also distributed through itch.io and GitHub, and we have communities on Discord, Reddit, Facebook, Bluesky, TikTok and YouTube. Those services have their own terms, which apply when you use them.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
