I spent several weeks trying to figure out why I could not connect to Blue Saga. The game crashed every time I tried to launch it - just after the launcher checked if I needed to update the client. I managed to figure out that it was due to me having version 8 of JAVA (which is not yet supported). So I uninstalled JAVA 8 and then re-installed JAVA 7.. But it did NOT fix the problem (even though it said JAVA 1.7 when checking my JAVA version in the terminal).

FIX:
I then started to search on google for an answer and stumbled upon this thread:
http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/webnotes/install/mac/mac-jdk.html
The reason why it is still not working is because JAVA 8 is still running if you're Java Developers Kit is version 8. So, what you need to do is the following:

Navigate to /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines and remove the directory whose name matches the following format:*

/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk<major>.<minor>.<macro[_update]>.jdk

Now re-install Java 7 and you should be fine!

idk if this is the place to post about this, but whenever I login to my account on the client my game immediately closes without warning. I've downloaded the latest version of java and I'm on a mac.

I tried the latest client on mac, and I could login. Please look in the app with "show package contents", contents > resources, and see if there is a crashlog. Post the latest crashlog here and I will help debug the problem.

No crash logs. I wish I could tell you more about when exactly it closes, but the server's down right now. Thanks so much for helping.

Mellow, running from the terminal might give more info. Open a terminal and type:

cd Downloads/BlueSaga/BlueSaga.app/Contents/Resources
java -jar libs/gameData.jar

(You might have to change the cd line if you saved BlueSaga.app in a different directory.)

Then try to login. After the go in the menu Shell > Export text as ... to save the log, and copy the content of this file in this forum.

Is it possible to do this with the server offline?.. The server is offline, right? I will give this another try tomorrow because I wasn't able to choose a server, and the game was stuck on the "checking for updates" page (I assume because it couldn't reach the server).
